Love holds no grievances

Tag: Thoughts

Be wary – they’ve arrived!
We have strived to stop them,
Yet still, tenaciously,
They have arrived to kill.

No one escapes, they’re here –
In fear, we cannot hide,
They reach inside and tear
The flesh off bones – alas! –

Too late – they have arrived!
In nightmares we have seen
Them coming from within,
Our sin – to let them through.

We cannot fend them off,
Nor mend the ills they’ve caused
We never paused to think
What our own thoughts could bring.

I lay alone under a tree,
Feeling nostalgic and whatnot,
I thought of all I came to be –
Whether I’m cursed or blessed by God?

I thought the thoughts – some strange indeed!
“I think therefore I am” – Am I?
Were I to follow where they lead,
What comes of “me” when “my thoughts” die?

Or could it be that I’m asleep?
It seems so real, but would I know?
Often nightmares seem real indeed
Even when having strangest flow!

Such thoughts made sudden change in me,
I realized – I have no will!
The sky came down so suddenly,
And I woke up, in my room still.

How strange – my thoughts that were unreal,
Conceived beyond the thickest haze,
Brought new perception of surreal,
Helped to escape from wicked maze.

Now in my bed, as I lay still,
Nightmarish thoughts bring back the dream –
Voice in my head cries loud and shrill –
Opened my mouth, but could not scream!

My Thoughts

Based on ACIM Workbook lesson 10:
My thoughts do not mean anything

I walked alone and passed you by,
In passing thus I thought of you,
I made a judgment, saw a lie,
That I allowed to pass me through.
I judged you as if seeing truth –
Yet seeing truly I’ve learned not,
And being still in my thoughts caught
I cannot judge – only misuse.
How could I see the pure in you,
While trying finding but a few
Sins I have hidden in my mind,
Sins I’m afraid myself to find?

Another day, and I forgot
All that I saw with blinded eyes,
The thoughts in which I have been caught,
The hate I’ve used as my disguise.
When I’m alone, I judge myself
The thoughts of hate that breed in me
Demand that I must set them free
And I submit – to my own hell.
No one condemns me to this hate,
I am myself choosing this fate,
The thoughts of mine lead to disgust,
Their meaning bears so high a cost.

These thoughts exist in my own head
And all the world I see outside –
All of the past, and what’s ahead –
Is a reflection, meant to hide
The fear of truth, the dread of peace –
In such mad ways I’ve learned to see!
No longer happy just to be,
My thoughts are my own thought police!
It took much time to realize
How what I think brings my demise –
And how my judgement is my bane
That I with my own thoughts maintain.

Based on ACIM workbook lesson 5:
I am never upset for the reason I think

So many things of this world bring you down,
So many things cause you to frown –
Each one is different to you.
You think you know why you’re upset,
You think there is a difference how things affect,
The life you dream of going through.

The choice to be upset is but your own,
The laws of suffering you’ve carved in stone,
And then decided to forget
How world of suffering’s been made,
How you yourself created hate,
How your own thoughts make you upset.

And your own thoughts, so cherished whims,
Through which the pure Voice but ever dims,
Inside of your own tired mind –
Does all this really worth the strife,
That you are going through in life,
Unable happiness to find?

All your upsets and all your struggles here
Arise from only your own fear –
The fear of trading body for the Truth.
You think upsets are caused by unfair world,
But your own thoughts bring pain untold –
Yet seeing thus you still refuse.

Sonnets of Love – 9

You always worry, think and fear
The thoughts so ancient, and still –
You do believe in them, my friend.
The words you say – I do not hear,
It is the Love in you I feel,
We are as one, there is no end.

There is no world

There is no world – thus the main theme of A Course In Miracles can be summarized.

The ego gathers evidence to the contrary, day and night. The only goal the ego pursues is to prove to you that there is in fact a world. There is a universe and you’re a body. You live on earth and you have real needs. You have to honor needs, or else – you suffer, wither and die.

Everything is built around this theme in this world – there is virtually nothing and no one who helps you to see differently. It is a prison where prisoners imagine to be kings, and they will not allow a dissident to break free and show them the beauty behind the barbwire.

There is no world – you learn of this and now you know no better but to deny the world. Deny your bodily needs, deny the laws the ego set forth for you. But how can you deny something you don’t believe in?

Denying the ego is what makes it seemingly real. Your thought is what gave rise to this illusion, and the denial is yet another thought. Until you learn to give the world no thought at all, it will be there for you, tormenting you forever.

What does it mean to give no thought at all? It means to not judge. You see the world for what it is and you do not judge one thing to be better or worse, more or less special. While you are here your body has some needs – you fulfill them, but you do not seek your purpose in them. You continue to function – but with a gentle smile upon your face, forgiving the sin you know does not exist.

Perceptual problems

Unhappiness and problems is something you perceive. It seems to be and yet it’s not. Do not discount how powerful your mind is – if you believe in pain, loneliness, hate and lack, you will create appropriate circumstances for yourself and start perceiving what you believe in. No thought is idle, be careful what you will.

Knowing this you have but choose again.

You’ve chosen to create this world the way you see it. But seeing, feeling, touching is nothing more than a perception.

First, choose to perceive the world for what it is – an illusion, made by the ego to convince you there is nothing to be had beyond it. Realize that this illusion is nothing and it’s hiding from you everything. Then, choose to see beyond it. There lies true vision.
