What could I offer you with words?
Presumptuous utterances blind
To real feelings our heart holds,
To deeper workings of our mind.

What could I say that helps the pain,
Or soothes soul in moments dark?
Words short of truth could maybe feign
Could maybe aim near the mark.

And how could I support my friend,
But through the gratitude unsaid.
Remaining in my heart, I lend,
In silent sadness, helping hand.

Let’s realize – all comes to pass.
We’re but a leaf amidst the wind,
Still fighting, trying to surpass
The guilt for all the sins we sinned.
